The World Sea Turtle Day – 16th of June, was celebrated at the Blue World Institute as a part of the activities of the „Collective Actions for Improving the Conservation Status of EU Sea Turtle Populations“ (LIFE EUROTURTLES) project. Therefore, interactive educational workshop on the excursion boat „Krško“ at Zabodarski Bay, island of Lošinj was organized. The workshop was designed for children between age of 5-12 with the help of Blue World Institute’s volunteers and Mali Lošinj Tourist Board. The educators from the Blue World Institute presented them main facts on sea turtle’s biology and ecology. The focus was put on the threats that sea turtles encounter during their life cycle and relevant conservation measures focusing on the responsible human behaviour towards the marine environment that we should all implement.
