The town of Noto, indeed, adopted in May 2019 safeguard measures for sea turtles protection in the plan of uses of the marine state property (P.U.D.M). WWF proposed these measures on the base of the results of the previous WWF report that analyzed the major anthropogenic threats to sea turtles. The main measures concern the prohibition of cleaning the beaches with mechanical means and the reduction of light and noise pollution.

The same proposal will be sent to the other Sicilian municipalities that are project partners, hoping that they will follow the example of Noto.
